1985-1987 Was enlisted into the Soviet Army.
1992-1994 Took part in the Nagorno-Karaback Liberation war.
Work Experience
In 1980 went in for weightlifting.
In 1983 gained the title of Master of Sport in Weightlifting.
Also worked as a deputy director in the Cooperative ''Sofa''.
In 2006 he was elected as a president of the Weightlifting Federation of the RA.
On 8 August, 2007 took over the position of the Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

In 2009 was rewarded with a Golden chain by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
